Flushed with new funds from her recent $6600 scholarship payout, Ava Zinn tries to return a semblance of normalcy to her Fort Wayne routines before heading into a hectic 17-week semester. Caprice sulks for canned food and clean litter, Ella theatrically cusses Ava out about getting her nails done, and Ava tries to keep on top of budgeting, cleaning, bills, and schoolwork. Between laughs with Breeanna, George, Rachael and Janice, we’re left with a genuine sense of weariness.
The episode ends with Ava struggling to clip Ella’s nails again, only for Ella to pull away and scream bloody murder (literally bleeped out because she did). “Oh my God, she’s stressed me out so much today. I’m so overworked,” Ava says helplessly as the scene cuts between Ella screaming, Ava tidying up her room, and flashbacks of ordering veggie bowls at Raising Cane’s and clothes at Northcrest.
